Having heard about Ali through a recommendation, we approached Ali the next day after my son's birth, whilst still in hospital. She gave us some great advice over the phone initially, which encouraged us to keep going and at least hand expressing colostrum.

I was struggling with my milk supply and getting my baby to feed from me. I contacted Ali when my baby was about 10 days old. We first had a phone consultation which Ali gave some advice and explained the service she offers. She then did a home visit with me two days later. Ali is very friendly, caring, passionate, polite and professional. She made me feel completely at ease.

To her credit, Ali was very realistic and honest as to what I might expect feeding wise and worked with me to create a plan that was feasible for me and my baby. We set a time limit for how long to keep at this plan and when we should review how it was going. She checked in with me regularly by phone and was available for me to ask questions as and when I needed. We altered this plan over the coming weeks.

Ali also helped me optimise expressing. Assessed and assisted with latching my baby and showed me how to use nipple shields correctly when I needed to. She also assisted my husband with bottle feeding. She would write up the plans clearly and concisely and everything in these plans was very much tailored to my own wishes and needs.

Even though I was unable to fully breast feed my baby I felt very content and proud that I got to a point where my baby is getting as much breast milk as possible from me, and enough to make my efforts worthwhile. This also massively eased the significant guilt I was feeling for not fully breast feeding my son. Now two months old I am happily feeding my baby by breast and bottle and he is thriving. I have recommended Ali to many of my friends already, she provides an outstanding service.
